Name: Domestic Violence Reduction Project

Description: Provides assistance with legal procedures such as temporary restraining orders, stay away orders, child custody and visitation issues directly related to domestic violence. Also provides case management for the victims and can assist with obtaining emergency shelter, housing, public benefits, counseling related the domestic violence.Also assists VAWA eligible immigrants who are survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Services include assistance with VAWA and U-Visa petitions, petitions to adjust Lawful Permanent Resident status, and advocacy with law enforcement agencies.

Description: Case Management Services: Provides direct family support services through case management, parenting classes (including court-mandated), referrals, and promotes parent's knowledge of developmental milestones and norms. Name: Homeless Court

Description: Homeless courts assist participants resolve outstanding criminal matters, such as infractions, misdemeanors, and low-level felonies. To qualify for the program, a participant must be homeless. This may include:living in an emergency shelter, being evicted within 14 days from a private dwelling and no subsequent home is identified,being discharged within a week from an institution, (e.g. a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility or jail/prison, in which the person has been a resident for up to 90 consecutive days) and no subsequent home is identified, fleeing a domestic violence housing situation and no subsequent home is identified, living in transitional housing for homeless persons, permanent housing for formerly homeless persons, a psychiatric facility, substance abuse treatment facility, hospital, hotel or motel paid without an emergency voucher, foster care or group home, safe haven, orliving in a vehicle or on the street. 

Who is eligible: Must live in Kern county, U.S. citizen, and must be homeless.

Homeless Court: reside in a residency program for 30 days or be enrolled in non-residency program for 45 days. Must be sponsored by an organization, in a self-help program, case managed and homeless. Referred by case manager.
