Name: Catalyst Foundation

Description: Provides several programs and services for people with HIV and HCV such as medical care, supportive services, free testing and counseling, prevention and education services, and a Life Challenge Program for high-risk incarcerated youth. For people who qualify the following services are also provided housing, transportation, food, support groups, and financial literacy.

Who is eligible: Individuals who are AIDS/HIV or HCV positive.

Name: Equipment for Life Program

Description: This program supplies seniors with free loanable durable medical equipment that they can borrow for FREE. The items are donated, sanitized, and repaired to meet the needs of our clients. Equipment includes canes, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, rollators, knee scooters, shower benches, shower chairs and more—providing mobility and independence to those who need it most!

Who is eligible: -Must be 55+ years old and reside in Bakersfield or Kern County. -Must have a medical need for durable medical equipment.

Fees: Free

Description: Provides medication assistance for the treatments of HIV and AIDS to individuals without insurance coverage or third party benefits for ADAP medications and case management services to individuals who are HIV-positive or have AIDS.

Name: Salvation Army - Ridgecrest

Description: Program provides emergency food support, utility assistance, holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, thrift store voucher program that provides clothing, furniture and household essentials, and additional social service support services.

Who is eligible: Supports people who are blind or have low vision. Anyone whose vision is to the point where it makes it difficult to do basic tasks independently even with corrective lenses or surgery
